We spent the night of May 3rd to 4th in front of the Liebenwald lock.
There is a very low sheet pile wall for mooring with a lawn in front of it. Ideal for our small steam boats.
At the beginning of the night the boiler radiation kept us comfortably warm. Later it became icy cold. In Migge's photo you can clearly see the hoarfrost on the lawn - brrr.
The Liebenwalde and Zehdenick locks are now automatic locks. A few years ago, on a steamboat tour with Helmut's Iris, there were friendly lock keepers everywhere who had created and maintained wonderful lock gardens. Today, they no longer exist - now all you have to do is pull the lever and wait for the lock to open...
Along the edge of the route you will often find beautiful remnants of the 'Eastern Baroque'. Here is a bold pedestrian bridge construction just behind the Zehdenick lock.
The goal has been achieved. We reach the harbor of the Mildenberg brickworks park in time for an evening beer.
Emma has been given exhibit number 50 and we are already browsing through the special edition of the 'Merkwürdige Allgemeine' for the 8th Märkische Dampfspektakel
